Eastbourne DigiFest is supporting TechResort: Your old device could help others

TechResort are helping to tackle digital exclusion by providing devices and digital skills coaching to those who need it. Digital exclusion is worsening as the cost of living crisis continues to hit our community.

More and more people don't have access to any devices to complete essential tasks online or stay in contact with loved ones and support networks. For many vulnerable people, having a device is a lifeline that is unfortunately out of reach.

Bring your old devices along to Eastbourne DigiFest and donate them to the TechResort in our exhibition. Whether it's a phone, laptop, or tablet, it will help someone out.

Their team of young workers will then refurbish the devices by:

  • Wiping any remaining data

  • Checking it works and is suitable for basic use

  • Upgrading the hardware, if necessary

  • Installing fresh software ready for use

  • Placing it in a laptop bag with accessories and instructions on getting started

Not only would your donation provide that lifeline to a vulnerable person, you'll give the young TechResort team the opportunity to gain invaluable technical and employability skills in the process.

What do you have laying around in your drawers? Bring it along to the Tech Amnesty at Eastbourne DigiFest.
